Underwriting Q & A | May we pay the property taxes in Texas for 2017 and insure that 2018 taxes are “not yet due and payable”?

November 13, 2017In August, First National Title Insurance Company set up a fund to support our independent agents in the Houston area affected by the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. Through the generous donations of our employees, friends, and another regional underwriter, Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Company, we were able exceed our goal and raise over $10,000.
Now comes the most important and enjoyable part of this effort—the giving. Of the 14 independent agents that represent FNTI in the Gulf Coast Region, four companies reached out to us for support.
I am pleased to report that we have distributed over $10,000 to the following agents:
- Admiral Title, LLC, Bay City – $2,000
- Guaranty Title of South Texas/Bedgood Title, Victoria – $1,500
- South Land Title, LLC, Galveston – $4,555
- PT-Patriot Title, LLC, Houston – $2,500
The needs are still great and the recovery/rebuilding efforts will continue for many more months, so please continue to keep those affected by this disaster in your thoughts and prayers.
We at FNTI are so thankful to have played a small role in providing assistance to those in need and appreciate everyone that supported our efforts. It is a testament to the spirit of giving and compassion that has allowed us this gift.
Thank you.
