Get to Know Your Underwriter: David Hays

🏈 Kicking off our Underwriting Team Spotlight Month, we’re excited to introduce David Hays, FNTI’s General Counsel. With over 25 years of experience, David is not only the leader of our legal and underwriting teams, but also a major part of FNTI’s leadership, helping guide strategy, growth, and compliance across the company.

Over the past year, David has been expanding into a broader operations leadership role, taking on new responsibilities that will help shape FNTI’s future. His ability to combine legal insight, underwriting expertise, and business strategy makes him a key driver in positioning the company for long-term success.

When asked what he enjoys most about his work, David’s answer is simple: the people. He values building strong relationships with agents and escrow teams, supporting their businesses, and helping them serve clients. Equally, he’s motivated by leading his team, giving them the tools and support they need, and celebrating their success.

Outside the office, David’s passions shine through—he’s a music lover (especially 80s & 90s rap and R&B), a golf enthusiast, and above all, a family man who treasures time with his two daughters.
