I was having a hard time with my iPhone recently with the pictures I was taking. They were not in focus and so blurry I could barely make out who was in the picture. Seems all I needed was a hard start of my phone to fix the problem. The problem in our title business is there is never a good time for a “hard start”, or restart our focus, because transactions keep coming in one after the other. Our kids in school are lucky to get the opportunity every year as the year ends to play during the summer time, and then start fresh in August as a new school year begins.
Focus keeps us on point and going in the right direction. Last month I wrote about productivity and setting goals with specific actions that help us focus on high pay off activities. I hope you had a chance to go through the exercise at the end of my blog last month. I noticed big improvements in my focus by doing this activity and success has followed. This activity acted as my “hard start” which has provided the focus I needed to get me back on point. I have set for myself some critical and not so critical deadlines for me and only me to monitor my own successes. Of course, my deadlines and yours would be different. Most of you have plenty of deadlines as you go through your months or quarters of the year, but I encourage you to set some personal business goals for yourself to get your business in a fresh focus.
