December 12, 2017Connecting with people is so important when influencing others. In fact, I believe connecting is the foundation of sales. You see, relating to another person is a two-way street. If you truly connect, you learn what the other party wants and they learn what you want. If you intentionally focus on their needs, you will find more often than not that they will go to work providing what you need as well.
With that in mind, let me officially welcome you to the Holiday Season! What a beautiful time of year it is to celebrate love, relationships, and the spirit of giving. How do you plan to connect with others this Holiday Season? Will you put money in the Salvation Army bucket to get a nod of thanks from the caring soul ringing the bell in the cold? Will you spend time at the toy drive for needy kids? Will you buy a gift for a child found on a paper angel hanging from a Christmas tree? Will you have a touching conversation with a family member over morning coffee? All these things take energy, but connecting with others requires effort and energy. One way to connect is to find common interests or common ground. So many times we spend negative energy focusing on the not-so-common ground due to the hustle and bustle of our own Griswold Family Christmas and miss out on the possible connections. My challenge and hope for you is to be intentional in connecting with people this Holiday Season and celebrate what matters most to you and your family.
Merry Christmas!
