The early 1980s was not a time that women owned title companies in Texas, but Ann Robertson took the plunge in March 1983 and purchased the title company where she had worked for two years. She changed the name from Microtitles to Kerrville Title Company and grew a business that is well established in the community of Kerrville, Texas.
There was plenty to learn about the business in those early years, and Ann likes to tell the story about her friend, Tom Myers, who owned the oldest title company in town. He would often check on her and offer her his help with complex abstracts. Tom wasn’t concerned that this would hurt his business, because he doubted that a women could succeed in the title industry. Ann has certainly proven him wrong and is still going strong 43 years later while Tom has long since sold his title company. They remain friends today.
Ann’s oldest child, Clay, joined the business in 1995 and serves as vice president. Clay says, “It’s always a pleasure to work with FNTI, because Geri is such a pleasure to work with—always willing to help us any way we might need. Also, working with FNTI Title Production has given us access to so many more counties than we had before. That’s a big plus and makes the out-of-county deals run a little bit smoother.”
Last summer, Kerrville and towns surrounding it on the Guadalupe River experienced a devastating tragedy when the river flooded over the Independence Day weekend. The swollen river came within inches of flooding their title office. The Kerrville Title staff and fellow citizens went above and beyond to help the victims and first responders that came to the aid of the community.
It is dedication like this that makes the staff of Kerrville Title Company deserving of our agent spotlight. First National Title would like to congratulate Ann Robertson, Clay Robertson, and the staff of Kerrville Title Company as one of our 2026 Outstanding Independent Agents.
