Getting to Know Brad Jones – SVP, Florida Region Agency Manager

Since I was a young child, my family vacationed in the “Sunshine State”. The roadside citrus stands, and fresh squeezed orange juice were always a favorite treat. The beaches and ocean seemed to call me and became a “happy place” that as I grew older would become a calming and happy memory when I needed peace. When I started my own family, I kept the tradition alive and wanted my sons to have the same memories so we vacationed all over from the emerald coast, down to the keys and all the way back up to “the beach you can drive cars on” and lots of places in between.

I grew up in the Midwest, Kansas City to be exact, the Missouri side. My mother was an escrow office manager for a National Underwriter and my dad owned a real estate brokerage. I started at the age of 18 working in the escrow office as a processor. I would “work up” the settlement statements in pencil, making sure they balanced and then would hand off to the closer who would verify my work and then type them up with carbon paper to make copies. Our industry has changed so much over the years….

Over the next several years I would go to work for a national underwriter in the production department learning search and exam, get my real estate license and work as a property manager and then finally settle into the production side of the title business. I was very fortunate and blessed to work for 2 “independent title agents” for over 25 years of my career. The owners were great teachers and allowed me to grow and become a better employee, manager and then leader of fellow title and escrow professionals. Working over the years as a searcher/examiner, processor, closer and manager has provided a foundation of knowledge I always want to share and more importantly, listen to other experiences as I continue my journey.

Our industry is sometimes misunderstood by the consumer until our expertise and underwriting of title challenges or efforts to make smooth closings, become their experience. We are the “last stop” before they move out or into their homes, where families are created and memories are made.

I am extremely excited to join a growing company that embodies the same values as I have developed during my career.

I am blessed to call the state of Florida my home.
