Independent Agents’ Month: Outstanding Agent Award Winner – Hill Country Titles, Inc.

Over half a century ago, Gordon Sauer, owner of Hill Country Titles, Inc. was a young attorney in his first year of law practice. He received a call from a local attorney and mentor who told him there was a Gillespie County abstract plant for sale and “every country lawyer needs an abstract company.” He offered to finance the purchase of the abstract plant, and Gordon started his journey into the new world of title insurance in 1970.

Through the years, Gordon has worked diligently to build his business and establish a reputation for quality work in Fredericksburg and Gillespie County. His staff has grown to 25 employees, and the company footprint has expanded into the surrounding communities of Blanco, Johnson City, Junction, Mason, and Rocksprings.

Gordon says he hasn’t really had any hobbies over the years, but he spent much of his time outside the title business raising and selling cattle until about three years ago. As his staff takes on more duties of running the title company, Gordon now has more time to spend in Cuchara, Colorado enjoying the mountains and forests surrounding his home there.
When asked why he likes working with First National Title, he commented on the long relationship he has had with Geri Hosterman and said he “enjoys working with Geri and likes the way she responds to our staff.”
