FNTI Heads to The Big Easy for TLTA
June 16, 2017Q & A | Overburden of Easements…
June 21, 2017Chris Phillips, CEO and president of First National Title Insurance Company (FNTI), was elected to serve as president of the Texas Land Title Association (TLTA) at the association’s Annual Conference last week in New Orleans. He has served on the TLTA board of directors for several years in different capacities and will now take over as president through June 2018.
Chris was handed the gavel by outgoing TLTA President James Dudley of Central Texas Land Titles, Inc. and commenced his term with a speech on family. He began by talking about his different work families he has had in the title industry starting with the Colorado title company his father owned. There were a few other companies along the way until he ended up at FNTI five years ago. He also spoke about his TLTA family and all the colleagues he has gotten to know in this business and become friends with over the years. The third family he mentioned was his own personal family, and he had to fight back a few tears when commenting on how proud he was of his wife, Cathy, and daughter, Ali.
Chris has been an active member of TLTA serving on several committees throughout the years and was awarded its highest honor in 2010 as Title Man of the Year in 2010, which recognizes a member’s significant and longtime contributions to the title industry and the association. His new position as president will have him traveling throughout the state of Texas as well as visiting title industry associations in other states and the national association in Washington DC.
We would like to congratulate Chris on his new position, and we’ll miss him as he is out and about handling TLTA business. Be sure to send your well wishes to him at [email protected].
