June 10, 2019Underwriting Q&A: Rollback taxes and supplemental taxes – TEXAS
June 20, 2019The Texas Department of Insurance made several changes to the continuing education (CE) process in March. The biggest change is that escrow officers will now renew their licenses during their birth month instead of when the agent license is renewed. Escrow officers will now have more responsibility in making sure the CE requirements are met, and the renewals are submitted timely.
The requirement for ten hours of CE credit has remained the same during the two-year licensing period, but now two of those hours need to be ethics. First National Title (FNTI) has offered our agents On-Demand training webinars in conjunction with the Texas Land Title Association (TLTA) for several years. This program offers CE credit with courses that are continually updated and are available at no cost to FNTI agents.
The CE On-Demand course list is available on the TLTA website click here . You will need login access to the site to register for courses. If you don’t already have this information, call TLTA at 512-472-6593. A special FNTI discount code is needed in order to zero-out the balance and complete the registration. Please contact April Roberts ([email protected]) or Geri Hosterman ([email protected]) for the FNTI discount code and/or the specific instruction on accessing these On-Demand courses.
FNTI also offers monthly webinars the third Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Email notices are sent to our agents early in the month with the registration information. Each of these webinars provides 1.0 hour of CE credit for escrow officers.
We have the ability to do in-house training for your staff with a number of TDI-approved courses for credit. Contact April Roberts for the list of courses or more information on this service. FNTI is here to help fulfill the educational needs of our independent agents. Please let us know how we can help you.
