Dear Agents:
We have been made aware of a letter agents are receiving concerning a “fee survey” from the Colorado Division of Insurance. As you know from Colorado Regulation 8-1-1, title agents in Colorado are responsible for maintaining a three-year history of filed fees.
Colorado Division of Insurance is now using a letter/survey that will require you to answer two basic questions;
1. Concerning the number of times a particular fee has been used or applied
2. Concerning changes in your fees
This will occur at the end of year one, two and three following the filing of your fees. If an agent does not respond in a timely manner, they may be fined and subject their filing to further scrutiny.
