Message from the CEO | Q1 Results Show Increases for First National Title Insurance Company

First National Title Insurance Company (FNTI) continues to grow its revenues and market share. Our steady and consistent growth can be attributed to the growing number of agents supporting FNTI as an underwriter that advocates for the independent agent. Our primary focus is to meets the needs of these agents and to ensure they have the opportunity to close transactions. Most of the national title insurance underwriters have reported their results for the first quarter of 2019, and the results are mixed. Some have seen revenues improve slightly while others show record losses. At best, the market is flat; however, that is not the case in FNTI’s territory. Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and Florida are all showing positive economic signs and the real estate market is up. Texas produced the highest volume of title premiums in the country. Arizona’s real estate market is booming, and Florida can’t keep up with the construction demands. And with space travel getting closer to becoming a reality, New Mexico’s “space ports” are creating an economic boost for parts of their state. I have said it many times, but I am so thankful FNTI calls these states our home territory.  

If our growth continues according to our plan, we expect to retain our ranking within the top ten underwriters in the nation. Q1 has us ranked #10 in the nation and our sights are set on becoming #9 by the end of the year. To reach this milestone in our eighth year in business is extremely rewarding. It is an affirmation that there is a market for an independent agent-driven underwriter and is a confirmation that the entrepreneurial spirit is thriving. It is also validation that the big four underwriters don’t have to control 85 percent of the market. 

The mission of FNTI is to grow our business. If we can do it with good, old-fashioned customer service and personal relationships—even better. And if we have to use our resources to innovate through the use of creative technological efficiencies, integrations and connectivity—then we will do that too. Know that FNTI will do whatever it takes to earn your business.
